Social pedagogy considering its fields of action and institutions
The research team "social pedagogy with the consideration of its fields of action and institutions" focuses on person-related services in the context of the welfare state. Social-pedagogical services are subject to the current socio-political developments and ideas, which compete for the "right" construction of the relationship between the general public (society) and the individual. Thus, they are to a large extent connected to the development, expansion and restructuring of the welfare state as well as of its overall arrangement. From this research perspective, questions are asked about which hegemonic constellations determine which socio-pedagogical services are responsible for dealing with a particular problem. In addition, the focus is on research on the socio-padagogical organizational cultures, since the micropolitical processes within the organizations have a lasting influence on the way in which programmatics are implemented in terms of content. The interaction, communication, and power structures formed within the organizations shape the professional pracitices that they themselves have generated and exert influence on the form and content of intra-organizational as well as inter-organizational interactions. Accordingly, research on institutions and organizations in social pedagogy sets the institutionalization processes and programming of organizations in relation to these very micropolitical processes. The focus of our research activities lies on child and youth welfare research. The research team "social pedagogy with the consideration of its fields of action and institutions" focuses on person-related services in the context of the welfare state.
